Financial Questions

Yes, if you have any form of health insurance – medical, dental, vision – please provide that information to the NSU Health representative when you schedule your initial appointment. There will be no “out-of-pocket” expenses billed to the patient for services covered by the Veterans Care program. Veterans Care will cover “co-payments” and any other balances that your insurance does not cover.

NSU Health Veterans Care promises to make the billing process as easy as possible. We are contracted with many leading insurance providers.  Please refer to our website for a complete list: https://nsuhealth.nova.edu/patient-information/accepted-insurance.html

If you do not see your insurance plan listed, please call (954) 262-FLAG (3524), Option 2 and one of our NSU Health representatives will be pleased to verify whether we accept your insurance plan.

Yes, if you are an eligible veteran or veteran's family member and do not have insurance coverage, you may receive many of the services provided by NSU Health Veterans Care at no cost. This financial assistance is possible due to funding provided by the State of Florida through the Department of Health and will be available through June 30, 2025.

If you require further services as part of a care plan set in place and discussed with you by your provider other than what is covered under NSU Health Veterans Care, you will be financially responsible for those services. For example, if you have health insurance that covers medical services, and do not have insurance coverage for dental services, you can use your health insurance to cover the medical services provided at NSU Health, and the dental services provided under NSU Health Veterans Care will be of no cost to you.
